Luca Schmid currently serves as the CTO and Co-Founder of Vaayu, where he leads the technology and data science teams. His leadership at Vaayu has been instrumental in developing innovative products, including the creation of Kria, Vaayu’s advanced Impact Modeling Engine. Before founding Vaayu, Luca honed his skills at Vimcar, where he led a development team that made significant improvements to the company’s core algorithm and technical foundations. He also took the initiative to build the Helfer & Helden mobile application, which was designed to support local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic by connecting them with resources and community support.
Education
Luca is a self-taught programmer who has acquired a deep understanding of over ten programming languages. His expertise extends to data science, a field in which he has developed specialist knowledge through years of dedicated self-study and practical application in various projects and roles prior to and during his tenure at Vaayu.
